NETWORK OPTIMISATION & SD-WAN IN DUBAI

Slow is a symptom, not a diagnosis

"The internet is slow" almost never means the line is too small. In the estates we assess across Dubai it is usually contention on an oversubscribed link, a misconfigured VPN, cloud traffic backhauled through head office, or QoS that was never set. Lunet instruments the network for two weeks, then fixes what the data shows, and adds dual-ISP failover across Etisalat and du so a fibre cut is a non-event.

MEASURE, THEN FIX

Two weeks of data before a single change

Per-application visibility shows what is actually consuming the link. Latency and jitter are measured to the applications you depend on, not to a speed-test site. Capacity is planned across a 24-month horizon before anyone buys more bandwidth.

The result is usually the same: the existing circuit was adequate once traffic is prioritised and cloud paths are corrected.

MEASURED ON THE SAME CIRCUITS
Voice & video call quality+41%
Cloud application latency−34%
Effective throughput at peak+58%
Unplanned link outages−90%
No new bandwidth purchased in the majority of cases.
RESILIENCE

Dual-ISP failover across Etisalat and du

A single circuit is a single point of failure. SD-WAN runs two providers actively, steers each application over the path that suits it, and fails over in seconds rather than waiting for a support ticket.

Active-active links
Both circuits carry traffic, so the backup line is not an expensive idle asset waiting for a bad day.
Sub-5-second failover
Sessions move across before a call drops or a payment terminal times out.
Application steering
Voice and ERP take the low-latency path; backups and updates take the cheap one.
Branch consistency
Every site gets the same policy from one controller, so a new location is configured in hours.
WHERE THE TIME GOES

The four faults we find most often

01
No QoS policy
A cloud backup saturates the uplink at 11am and every call on the floor breaks up.
02
Hairpinned cloud traffic
Branch users reach Microsoft 365 via head office, adding latency for no security benefit.
03
Flat networks
Guests, cameras, printers and finance systems share one broadcast domain and one risk profile.
04
Consumer-grade kit
Unmanaged switches and home routers running a 60-person office, with no logs when it fails.
FREQUENTLY ASKED

Network optimisation questions

Do we need to buy more bandwidth?+

Usually not. In most assessments the existing circuit is adequate once traffic is prioritised and cloud paths are corrected. We measure first and tell you honestly if the line genuinely is the constraint.

How long does an optimisation take?+

A two-week measurement period, then a change window of a night or a weekend for most single-site networks. Multi-branch SD-WAN rollouts are staged site by site.

Will this improve Teams and Zoom calls?+

That is usually the most visible improvement. Voice and video are prioritised over bulk traffic, jitter is controlled and, with dual links, a degraded circuit no longer drops the call.

Can you work with our current Etisalat or du contracts?+

Yes. We work with both providers, handle escalation when a fault is theirs, and advise at renewal on whether the circuit still fits the load.

What is SD-WAN in plain terms?+

Software that sits over your internet links and decides, per application, which path to use, while failing over automatically if one degrades. It turns two ordinary circuits into a resilient network without leased-line pricing.
