ODOO & ERPNEXT IMPLEMENTATION IN THE UAE

One system of record, VAT included

Most UAE companies outgrow spreadsheets somewhere between twenty and eighty staff. Stock in one place, invoices in another and payroll in a third means every month-end is a reconciliation exercise. Lunet implements Odoo and ERPNext with FTA-compliant tax invoicing built in from day one, then supports the result with the same 24/7 desk that runs your infrastructure.

IMPLEMENTATION

Fixed scope, fixed price, phased so each stage is usable

Eight to twelve weeks for a typical SMB across finance, sales, inventory and purchasing. Manufacturing or multi-entity groups run longer, and we phase those so each stage delivers something usable rather than waiting for a single large go-live.

After go-live, the same Dubai team supports the system on the same 24/7 desk that supports your infrastructure. There is no handoff to a separate software vendor when something breaks.

IMPLEMENTATION · 8 TO 12 WEEKS
Weeks 1–2 · Process mapping
How the business actually runs, documented before anything is configured. Bad processes are fixed here, not automated.
Weeks 3–6 · Configuration
Modules configured, tax rules set to FTA requirements, approval workflows and user roles built.
Weeks 6–8 · Data migration
Customers, suppliers, stock and opening balances migrated, reconciled and signed off by your accountant.
Weeks 8–10 · Training & parallel run
Role-based training, then one period run in both systems so the numbers can be compared.
Weeks 10–12 · Go-live & hypercare
Cutover with daily support for the first fortnight, then into the standard 24/7 desk.
UAE COMPLIANCE, BUILT IN

Ready for the FTA, not retrofitted

Tax invoice format
Sequential numbering, TRN display and the mandatory fields on every document the system issues.
VAT return preparation
Input and output tax reported by period, with the audit file the FTA expects.
Corporate tax readiness
Chart of accounts structured so taxable profit can be derived without a year-end rebuild.
Record retention
Documents retained for the statutory period with access logged.
OPEN SOURCE, DELIBERATELY

Why Odoo and ERPNext

Both are open source, which means no per-user licence trap, no forced upgrade cycle, and your data in a database you can read. If you ever part company with us, the system does not leave with us.

Odoo suits trading, retail, services and light manufacturing with broad module coverage and a polished interface. ERPNext is fully open with no enterprise edition behind it, a strong fit for distribution, projects and organisations that want total ownership.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

ERP and business software questions

How long does an ERP implementation take?+

Eight to twelve weeks for a typical UAE SMB across finance, sales, inventory and purchasing. Manufacturing or multi-entity groups run longer, and we phase those so each stage is usable.

Is it FTA compliant out of the box?+

Tax invoicing is configured to FTA requirements during implementation, including sequential numbering, TRN display, mandatory fields and the VAT return audit file. Compliance is part of the build, not an add-on.

Can it handle multiple companies or branches?+

Yes. Multi-company, multi-currency and multi-warehouse are standard, with consolidated reporting across entities.

What happens to our existing data?+

Customers, suppliers, stock, open transactions and opening balances are migrated, reconciled and signed off by your accountant before go-live. Historic records stay accessible.

Do we own the system?+

Yes. Both platforms are open source, the database is yours, and there is no per-user licence that grows with headcount. Hosting can be in your own cloud tenancy if you prefer.

Who supports it after go-live?+

The same Dubai team, on the same 24/7 desk that supports your infrastructure.
